Evelyn's academic journey began at the University of Calgary, where she obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with a specific focus on crime and deviance. During her time at University, she worked in the non-profit sector where she discovered her interest in advocating for her community. Evelyn joined Yanko & Popovic in 2014 as a paralegal under the guidance and mentorship of David Yanko. This invaluable experience and support from David Yanko, served as a pivotal point in her career.
After 8 years working as a paralegal, Evelyn made the decision to return to school to pursue her Law Degree, while maintaining full time work with the firm. During her time in law school, she received several awards for her academic performance including best performance in Criminal law, best overall performance in examinations, and was nominated for a Woman of the Future Award. Evelyn successfully obtained her LLB from The University of Buckingham, graduating with first-class honours in January of 2023.
Evelyn has extensive experience in personal injury with thorough knowledge of Section B guidelines, disability claims, settlement negotiations and litigation. She is passionate about patient advocacy and has spoken at The Women’s Parliament in Cambridge about the importance of medical autonomy and decision making.
